Utility Customer Data Books Include Energy Use and Hourly Loads for 436 Customer Segments

MAISY Utility Customer Data Books provide easy-to-use “Big Data” insights on energy use, hourly loads, and other characteristics for 436 commercial and residential segments. Data Books provide information extracted from MAISY Utility Customer Energy Use and Hourly Loads Databases developed from more than 7 million US utility customers.

Data Books include data and information that MAISY clients have indicated are the most useful segment characteristics for REP, ESCO, Solar, CHP, DR and other applications. Data Books are designed to provide easy access to these data items with a handy desk-top data reference.

Utility Customer Data Books are available for individual utility and metro areas, states and other geographic areas. Customer segments are defined as follows:

  • 400 commercial segments: 100 SIC/NAICS business and 4 employment size categories
  • 36 residential segments: 3 dwelling unit types, 4 demographic and 3 income categories

Data items provided for each segment include number of customers and average values for:

  • Average number of employees (commercial)
  • Average income and number of household members (residential)
  • Annual energy use (kwh) and peak demand (kW)
  • Annual load factor
  • Monthly electricity use
  • Floor space
  • Day-type/season 24-hour load profiles (average weekday, weekend day and typical peak day for summer, winter, spring/fall)

Data for each of the 436 customer segments is included in a single table with charts.
